NASCAR and F1 Pools: How to Pick a Driver Every Race
Racing pools are simple: every race weekend, pick one driver. Where that driver finishes decides your points, and the season standings add up race by race.
Scoring
The common system mirrors Formula 1 points for the top 10: 25 for a win, then 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 point for 10th. Finishing outside the top 10 scores nothing, so consistency matters as much as the occasional win.
One-and-done changes everything
If each driver can be used only once per season, you have to plan. In NASCAR, the field is deep enough that you can save the top drivers for the tracks where they are strongest. In F1, where one or two teams often dominate, one-and-done forces you to find value in the midfield for much of the year.
Know the track
NASCAR drivers specialize: some are at their best on superspeedways, others on short tracks or road courses. Superspeedway races are close to a lottery, so those are good weeks to use a driver you were not planning on saving.
Keep a long season fun
Both series run for most of the year. A weekly bragging-rights winner and an active pool chat keep people checking in between the big races.
